Our Team
Chewy
Bike Mechanic • Blowtorch Whisperer • Poet of the Pedal Life
Chewy’s been in the Continental orbit seasonally for many years (time blurs when you live life by the seasons and the wrench). He’s the shop’s philosopher-mechanic—a fan of good conversation, the smell of grease, and the kind of bikes that carry your whole life on them. When he’s not reefing on a derailleur cage or coaxing a seized bottom bracket free with a blowtorch, he’s likely sharing stories that blur the line between memoir and trail myth.
His biking roots go back to functional commuting in Minneapolis, but these days he’s happiest pedaling through remote terrain with everything he needs strapped to his frame. He’s a creative nonfiction writer, a clawhammer banjo noodler, and someone who truly gets that adventure and thoughtfulness go hand-in-hand.
One of Chewy’s more epic bike tales involves being struck by a truck, flipping like a turtle, cracking his helmet, and still somehow making it to the Anchor Bar before realizing, mid-beer, that he probably had a concussion. (He was right.)
Chewy lives for burritos stuffed to the brim with ride-day fuel, gorp and dried mango in his frame bag, and the rhythmic hum of tires on Jackpot Trail in northern Minnesota. His pet peeve? Customers who ask for a part without bringing the original—and then say, “It’s from a Trek.” (Friend, that narrows it down not at all.)
On days off, you’ll find him riding, hanging with his pups, reading, and sipping coffee somewhere under the sky. His theme song? Positive Mental Attitude by Bad Brains. His vibe? Lumbery. And if you don’t know what that means—just wait, you’ll feel it.
Dorian
Mechanic, Ski Tech, and All-Around Problem-Solver
Dorian is the shop’s go-to fixer—whether it’s a squeaky bike, a ski in need of TLC, or a question about overnight oats. With a knack for solving the weirdest, most challenging problems, Dorian thrives on keeping things running smoothly. Just don’t leave the bench in disarray—it’s his ultimate pet peeve.
Outside of work, Dorian’s a jack-of-all-trades: car mechanic, carpenter, filmmaker, beatboxer, and even fluent in French. Love slabs? So does Dorian, whether it’s biking, climbing, or just finding the steepest, jankiest lines to conquer.
On days off, you’ll find him outdoors—camping, hiking, or working on a deep project. Favorite fuel for adventure? Overnight oats that power hours of fun. And if you need him on a mountain, better hope they’ve got their trusty satellite phone!
Kyle
Sales Associate and Master of Quick Receipts
Sharing his love of the outdoors and his knack for spotting jackalopes (yes, really—haters, stay back), Kyle's been at Conti helping pick the perfect gear or making sure stock is just right, Kyle’s motto is simple: “Buy once, cry once.”
A self-proclaimed ice-fishing enthusiast and Fig Newton aficionado, Kyle thrives in the cold—just don’t challenge him to a Minute Rice cook-off unless you can break the 58-second mark. Need a move to emulate? Kyle’s 180 on Nordic skis is the stuff of legends.
On his days off, you’ll find him outside, Pad Thai in hand, holding on to the grass so he doesn’t fall off the Earth.
Drake
Bike and Ski Tech • Sticker Collector • Over-the-Bars Aficionado
Drake’s the kind of tech who knows: It’s not about the bike—it’s about the rider… but also, the bike definitely helps.
He fell in love with mountain biking thanks to his dad, who raced when Drake was a wee lad, and now he’s out there living the dream (and occasionally flying over the handlebars). When he’s not drawing or dodging “trail poopers,” he’s usually crushing lift laps or fueling up on Stinger waffles and Monster Energy—the “ice cold delicious” kind, of course.
Drake’s worst injury? A late-night overhuck on Mejumpalis that landed him in the ER with a neck brace and a story Cedar will never let him live down. His favorite trail? Moon Man at Spirit—because it’s hucky, flowy, and full-send approved.
If you ever want to get him talking, ask about rusty ski edges or overbuilt bikes (but maybe don’t). On his days off, you’ll find him ripping laps, dreaming of being Aragorn or Brage Vestavik, and blasting Feeling Real by Cursetheknife.
Signature move? Flying OTB with style. Signature quote? “Uuuuuhhhh idk. What’s your song of the week?”
Jon
Sales Manager / Buyer / Boot Fitter / Wearer of Many Hats
Jon has truly done it all. From sales and buying to boot fitting, he’s the go-to guy for just about anything. His favorite part of the job? Hearing customers rave about how stoked they are after trying a new activity. He knows that the gear they leave with will help fuel their passion for years to come.
Outside of work, Jon is a serious sailing enthusiast. When he’s not helping customers or fitting boots, you’ll probably find him racing sailboats on Lake Superior or reflecting on his epic 2022 journey from San Francisco to Oahu. He’s also been skiing since he was 9, and the Hidden Valley ski trails in Ely, MN, will always hold a special place in his heart.
Jon loves to be outside with his wife, sharing their love for the great outdoors together. And when it comes to fueling up, Montucky beer and jerky are his essentials for a big day on the trails.
On his days off, you might think he’s resting—but he’s probably just working. Hey, it’s all part of the job, right? When he's not working, Jon’s keeping the shop running behind the scenes, making sure everything runs smoothly.
Chris
Mechanic, Sales, DJ, Ski Tech – No Official Title, Just Gets Things Done
From mechanic work and ski tech to spinning tunes as the shop DJ, Chris does it all. He came to work with close friends and to immerse himself in the bike community—and that’s exactly why he’s still here.
Chris is all about experimentation, advising customers not to get caught up in marketing gimmicks. To him, bikes and skis are just tools—each one serves a different purpose. He’s passionate about going uphill quickly (whether riding or skiing), and when it comes to bike repairs, wrapping road bike handlebars is his signature move—done with dedication and care.
Outside, Chris is a man of many talents. He enjoys being outdoors, whether solo or in a group, because that’s just where people belong. He’s also got an impressive ability to do character voices and impersonations.
Fueling up for a big ride or ski day? Chris swears by his homemade date oat honey bars, the perfect energy-packed snack. And when it comes to injuries, his most memorable one is from a race, where his hand got caught in his front wheel while fixing his bike computer, sending his bike into a cartwheel and nearly losing a pinky finger.
Chris’s favorite trail or ski run changes every year, as he’s always learning and discovering new places. But one thing that never changes? His pet peeve—arrogance. He doesn’t believe in putting boundaries on how an activity is “supposed to be done.”
Go-to-saying: "Hey, you can’t park here, this is a bike lane!"
Dominick
Bike and Ski Tech • Steeze Enthusiast • Defender of Fences (and Dogs)
Dominick’s been keeping bikes and skis dialed in and he’s already earned a solid rep as someone who appreciates a clean bike and a good vibe. His favorite part of working here? The welcoming atmosphere and coworkers who are just as stoked as he is to talk shop and send it.
His outdoor love story starts with skiing—not by choice, at first. Young Dominick was all set to learn snowboarding, until a school trip deemed it too dangerous and stuck him on skis instead. Turns out, it was love at first glide. Fast forward to today, and you’ll still find him skiing, riding, hiking, swimming, or gaming on his days off. And if his goggles aren’t fogged and frozen, he's probably not about to crash into a fence (again).
Known for his steeze and his self-preservation instinct, Dominick can throw a mean fronty off the icehouse and power through a big day on Red Bull alone. If he had to trade places with anyone, it’d be Zeb Powell—because honestly, who else has that kind of style?
His ultimate outdoor essential? His dog, Baloo. His pet peeve? Those suspiciously built Amazon E-bikes. And his all-time favorite trail, Alsea Falls Loop in Oregon, still lives rent-free in his memory. Oh—and if you ask for a fun fact, just know: he has a clone. No, really. He has a twin brother. And yes, they both ran into the same fence on the same day.
Cedar
Mountain Biker Extraordinaire and Cat Lover
Cedar is an OG Duluthian Devo rider and a highly skilled mountain biker, always at the top of his game when it comes to tackling trails. Known for his peaceful demeanor and respect for others, he’s the kind of person who brings kindness wherever he goes—whether in the shop or on the trails. Cedar has a soft spot for cats and is always a pleasure to work alongside.
Outside of his biking expertise, Cedar’s calm, kind nature shines through in everything he does. His easygoing attitude and love for the outdoors make him a true Duluthian at heart. And if you’re lucky, you might catch him sharing stories of his biking adventures or just hanging out with his feline friends!
Rabe
Floater, Chaos Coordinator, Resident Rubik’s Cube Solver
Rabe’s been floating around Conti jumping between tasks, helping wherever needed, and generally keeping the shop energy at maximum enthusiasm. His advice to customers? “Buy. Plz.” (We assume he’s joking… mostly.)
Rabe got into mountain biking in middle school through NICA races, and things escalated quickly once he and his friends started exploring drops, jumps, and more technical trails. These days, his signature move is simply “riding really good,” which honestly checks out.
When he’s not biking, you might find him solving Rubik’s cubes at unexplainable speeds, eating stroopwafels, or snowboarding (where he once cracked a helmet overshooting a jump—0/10, do not recommend). His favorite run? Damnation at Mt. La Crosse—the first steep run that really hooked him on the sport.
Outdoors, Rabe can’t live without oxygen (same), and if he were stranded on a mountain he’d want a Garmin inReach… and maybe a little whiskey for warmth. His theme song? Juicy Wiggle—a choice that tells you everything you need to know.
On days off, he’s biking, fishing, snowboarding, eating food, or in class. And if he ever corrects your suspension vocabulary (“damping,” not “dampening”), just know it’s coming from a place of love—and mechanical accuracy.
Signature saying? “Better to be looking at it than looking for it.”
Jedidiah
Not a Mechanic,” But Definitely a Bike & Ski Know-It-All
Jedidiah’s a pro at chatting about bikes, skis, and pretty much anything on two wheels or two planks. He’s all about working with awesome people and sharing the stoke with regulars who love gear talk as much as he does. His go-to advice? Don’t stress over the perfect ride—just tweak your setup and watch your bike go from “meh” to “marvelous.”
Before he hit the trails, Jedidiah got hooked on mountain biking thanks to his younger brother, and he never looked back. He’s even got a hidden talent: balancing a quarter on his elbow and slapping it into the air like some sort of parlor trick pro. First time on classic skis? Let’s just say size 13 boots on size 10 feet aren’t ideal—cue the slapstick snow-dragging feet moment.
If he were stranded on a mountain, Jedidiah would pick a satellite phone (he’s practical like that), but otherwise he’s powered by PBR and PB+J—he once crushed a 12-hour race on that combo. His signature riding move? A classic turnbar, and hey, it might be the only trick in the book, but he owns it. Favorite trail? The remote, hard-to-reach Paint Mountain Trail in Tennessee—pure adventure guaranteed.
When not on the clock, he’s studying for school or hitting the trails. Theme song? Follow Me by Uncle Kracker. Fun fact: as a kid, he spent a questionable amount of time trying to drink water upside down—because why not? In a nutshell, Jedidiah’s here to talk bikes, crack jokes, and maybe help you avoid giant ski boots if he can.
Adam
Sales Associate (Daily Stoker)
Adam’s been sharing his stoke at the shop, bringing positive vibes and helping customers find their perfect ride or run. His motto? Sure, gear is great, but the real fun starts when you actually get out there. You don’t need the fanciest stuff to fall in love with your bike or skis—just start moving.
Skiing’s his top pick, a love sparked by backyard “side-stepping” as a kid to pack down his own mini ski run. Adam’s also got a hidden talent: he can start IVs. (Don’t worry, he probably won’t offer in-store demos.)
He’s been chased by a moose in the Tetons, broken ribs trying to keep up with his brother-in-law on cross-country skis, and would happily swap places with adventurer Jimmy Chin. When not working, he’s out in the Wasatch, on a bike, in the water, or on the snow, fueled mostly by water and good company. His “pet peeve”? Stopping. Something he wholeheartedly believes? “Hugs cure cancer.”
Catch Adam on a day off and you’ll see what keeps him going: good friends, wild adventures, and a Neil Young soundtrack playing in the background.
Madison
Sales Associate & Outdoor Enthusiasm Enabler
Madison is all about stoking that outdoor fire—no matter the weather. For her, gear doesn’t have to be fancy; it just has to help you do what you love. Whether you’re gliding on waxless skis or ripping on a full-suspension bike, the point is to get out there and enjoy it.
Nordic skiing is her jam—she’s been at it since before she can remember. But that doesn’t mean she can’t surprise you: when she’s not on the trails, Madison’s whipping up cozy creations at her sewing machine or knitting needles, or racing her friends out of nowhere just to see who’s fastest. She’s even survived a moose chase out West (once you outrun a moose, what else can scare you?).
Outdoors, Madison never leaves home without her trusty toothbrush, and she fuels her adventures with snack bacon, Cheez-Its dipped in cheese spread, and fresh pastries. On days off, you’ll catch her with her dog, Leo—who, by the way, gets greeted before any humans in the shop—and playing outside in whatever makes sense that season. And remember, if you don’t like dogs, well, that’s a red flag in her book.
Her life’s soundtrack? “Ocean (Live)” by John Butler Trio—relaxed, layered, and endlessly evolving, just like her love for the outdoors.
Kelsey
Web Wizard, Design Dreamer & Creative Code Connoisseur
Meet Kelsey, the behind-the-scenes mastermind who keeps the website looking sharp and the traffic flowing. She’s already jazzed about bringing her creative flair to every pixel and line of code—plus, being just a few blocks away means she can pop in anytime to admire some shiny new ski boots (out with the old 20-year-olds, in with the brand-spankin’-new).
Outdoors, Kelsey’s all about trying anything that sparks curiosity and joy. Surfing or climbing? Yes, please. But her true superpower is less about gear and more about… spit bubbles. Yep, you read that right. She can blow tiny, floaty bubbles right off her tongue—just ask her brother, who once declared “Bubbles!” during a musical. When she’s not unintentionally dazzling folks with her bubble-blowing, she’s “yeehooo”-ing down trails and slopes, or attempting a fancy 720 spin that ends in a 540 face-plant (knee’s still recovering, thanks for asking).
On a day off, you’ll catch her “bip-boppin about,” munching on dried mango and crispy seaweed, or walking her dog through Chester Bowl’s magical, PNW-ish scenery. If she could trade places with anyone, Kelsey might just skip humans altogether and see what whale or bird life is like. Until then, she’s busy making the internet more fun, coding with creativity, and always, always “collecting data.”
Renee
Sales, Merchandising & Master of Conversation
Renee's got the best gig—talking to people about anything and everything. Whether it’s the latest in the bike world or just swapping stories, she keeps the conversation rolling. Plus, she loves being around “the young ones,” who constantly amuse her with their wild bike antics.
Her go-to advice? You’re never too old to start biking—especially with E-bikes—and you’re never too young to ride one either. She should know—when she’s not at the shop, she’s either riding her E-mountain bike, hanging at the cabin, or spending time with her horses. Oh, and she’s also a secret floral mastermind, crafting beautiful arrangements for weddings and family gatherings.
One of her most legendary trail moments? Coming within five feet of a rattlesnake in Arizona, pulling off the ultimate survival move—feet up on the handlebars, coasting past the danger without crashing. No signature bike tricks, just pure instinct and nerves of steel.
Her must-have for outdoor adventures? Hot Hands, no question. She fuels up with Tailwind and homemade energy bars, and her favorite trail, Indigenous Trail in Mission Creek, keeps calling her back. But if there’s one thing that really gets under her skin, it’s not a bike-related pet peeve—it’s a toilet seat left up at work.
On her days off, you’ll find Renee riding something—horse or bike, take your pick. Her theme song? You Got Another Thing Coming by Judas Priest. And if you ever hear her mutter “What the hell”—well, you know things just got interesting.
Isaac
Mechanic, One-Hand Clapper, Shark Fact Enthusiast
Isaac’s been turning wrenches at Conti and he’s loving every minute of it—especially the endless stream of bikes that roll through the door. His advice for customers? Trust the bike shop folks. We know things.
He got into mountain biking thanks to his dad (aka: he was voluntold), and now he’s known for sending it big. His signature move? Boosting. His hidden talent? Clapping with one hand. His footwear of choice? Stinky delicious clogs. And his favorite trail? Green Man—mostly because everyone else hates it and he thrives in chaos.
Isaac’s most ridiculous trail moment? Folding his tire riding off a curb in La Crosse and eating pavement so hard he winded himself and stopped a whole lane of traffic. (It was a show.) He’s also been knocked out riding a skinny, woke up with amnesia, and no one believed him. Classic.
If he could trade places with anyone, it’d be Steph Curry—because who wouldn’t want a perfect 3-point shot? But in the real world, you’ll find Isaac gaming with Dominick Provo, working with Dominick Provo, and probably being mildly terrified of Dominick Provo.
His life soundtrack? Choices by Project Pat. His fun fact? He knows “crazy ball” about sharks. And if he ever builds a crafting table on a mountain… just go with it.
